Art Show

Should anyone in the Vancouver area be interested, my David Suzuki painting is now on display and will be hanging at the Red Galleria until August 16 for a charity event. You should all come out and help support a great cause!

Tom Waits caricature

I decided to abandon that weird / ugly llama thing and do a caricature of a musician as an animal instead, for the upcoming art show. This is Tom Waits as an orangutan. Or chimpanzee. I haven't really decided how I'm going to colour him just yet, but I think the reds of an orangutan would be fun to play with.

Finally back

I just finished up a big job, am starting work on a kids book, and have some other new things on the go. But this is a sketch i'm considering painting for an upcoming music show with an 'animal' theme. Mine is sort of a mix of a bear, cat and llama. And a little Elvis and a jogger, too. I might change it so that he's in an Elvis vegas outfit, that might suit the pompadour better.

I was never a big fan of Forest Whitaker, until he joined the cast of The Shield - pretty much one of the greatest TV dramas EVER (even better than another tremendous show: The Wire).

	This is a bear waking up from hibernation.

Typical Vancouver Day

This is just a little cartoon of a typical scene in Vancouver. Mostly I just wanted to draw a yoga-obsessed, Starbucks-drinking, croc-wearing Fake-N-Bake type person I see regularly in my neighbourhood. 

Puppy Painting

This is a painting of my family's two dogs that I did for my mom for Mother's Day this year. The bigger puppy died 2 years ago, and the smaller one is going on 14 this year and isn't doing so well, so I thought it would be nice to commemorate the happier times when they were together for my mom who adores them.

I kind of gave up on this one, figuring it was better to take what I could from this one and move on to the next. I think I'm going to look into upgrading my painting skills, seeing as how i have none at the moment.

This is still in the very early stages. I'm working on a whole new series, and this is the first in that line. Lots of tweaking and colour still to go, but I haven't been posting very often as of late, so i thought i'd throw something in the works up here. 

It seems that everyone considers SJP to be ugly, but there were many nights in the late 80's when I would go to bed hoping I'd wake up looking like her. Especially after seeing her in 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun'. I think she has one of the raddest faces.
